<image:title>Gallery - My Body Is Not Your Temple</image:title>
<image:caption>My Body is Not Your Temple places architectural elements of the church on the human body, in much the same way that the Catholic church wishes to claim the female body for God. But at the end of the day, they wish to build in me a temple to themselves, not to God. I have no intention of giving an exclusively male-governed institution jurisdiction over my female body, and I do not think that a human or deity who loved me would demand that of me. 14” x 3” x 3”, brass; die formed, pierced, fabricated, etched</image:caption>

      <image:title>About the Artist - Emily J. Fruth</image:title>
<image:caption>was raised on a popcorn farm in a small village in Northwest Ohio. After spending two years in Indiana as a painting major, she returned to Ohio and began taking metalsmithing classes at BGSU. Emily possesses a pervading sense of empathy, overwhelming curiosity, a propensity for introspection, a deep need for exploration, and somewhat compulsive cleaning habits. She is heavily influenced by her readings, her adventures, her history, and her loved ones. Whereas many people have skeletons in their closets, Emily has soapboxes in hers. Ask her enough questions, and you’re sure to uncover a few of them. In her extremely limited free time, she enjoys blues dancing, swing dancing, reading, singing, sewing, hiking, camping, baking, watching musical theatre productions, listening to “nerd music”, living vicariously through other people’s cats, and dressing up as though she just walked out of a bygone decade.</image:caption>
